There’s no way to tell if you’re experiencing things. Patagonia, the legendary clothing brand, is appearing in our list of backpacker meals. They are known for their environmental mindedness Patagonia’s food division -Patagonia Provisions, fits in similar mold. They are responsible in the selection, production and sell nuts and fruit bars such as buffalo jerky as well as salmon, hot cereals dry chili and soup mix as well as an ancient grain mix including beer. The food is created and packaged specifically for backcountry use however, to not be a surprise, the food is delicious enough to enjoy at home.
We’d love to have Patagonia Provisions expand their lineup to include complete meals at some point, but for now the organic soups, chilis, and grain mix are excellent meals to serve where you’ve got a bowl that is available. Soups are a great option to replenish your water after a hard day out on the trail, with sodium-rich, warm liquids Many hikers drink it every night along with their meal. With salmon, their tasty grains can be the perfect dinner (but beware, this kind of food requires more cleaning than normal). Additionally they have an average of the equivalent of 96 calories per ounce, it’s not particularly dense in calories. With all that said, many will enjoy the Provisions products worth the price for the top-quality flavor and nutrition.
