For those who are minimalist and true ounce counters Our top ultralight headlamp for 2022 will be the Nitecore NU25. With just a little less than 1 an ounce for the lamp (more on the strap down below) It’s a light that’s Nitecore is quite bright, with a maximum output of 360 lumens and is rechargeable through micro USB. We’ve also found it to be incredibly user-friendly (this is a frequent issue among users of headlamps) With just one switch for white light and another for the red beam. Overall, as an emergency light that is powerful or for those looking to put the least amount of burden on their backs The NU25 is bright and affordable alternative.

Remember it is it is important to note that the Nitecore NU25 has four brightness settings including 360, 190 and 38 and 1 lumen. There’s no dimming feature which is disappointing but definitely something we’ll get used to. Regarding this strap Nitecore option adds almost an ounce at 1.9 pounds it is slightly heavier over the BioLite 200 that we mentioned earlier. However, it is the Nitecore is the most efficient and can run for five hours at very high (190 lumens) as opposed to BioLite’s three hours at 200 lumens. For true minimalists and hikers, Litesmith makes a shoestring-style headband for the NU25, which is only .18 pounds (you can also make it yourself using an item of shockcord) and brings the entire set-up to 1.17 pounds. If you’re looking for a different UL option, look up the Petzl 1.2-ounce Bindi below.
