The Scarpa Instinct climbing shoe collection includes two models that lace up and two variants of a regular slipper and two different versions of the Velcro slipper. The Instinct VS, which is the more rigid version of both Velcro versions — has received rave reviews since its launch and I was keen to test it on the technical climbs at the Oregon’s Smith Rock, my home climbing crag.
